Over the years, the Highlander has earned an enviable reputation for good traditional Scottish food and friendly service. In the area

The Highlander can be found in the small village of Newtonmore. The Village is situated in the famous Spey Valley amidst the splendour of the Monadhliath and Grampian mountains. Newtonmore is a popular holiday destination and an ideal base for sporting recreation. Skiing and snowboarding are available in the winter months.

Why not visit the Cairngorms National Park which boasts many rivers, lochs, moorlands, forests and glens. After an energetic walk of discovery, enjoy the best of Scotland with a wee dram. The area boasts numerous distilleries to tempt your taste buds. You can chose to stay locally and visit the Dalwhinnie or Tomatin distilleries. To take your passion one step further, spend the day following the Malt Whisky Trail and stop by the Speyside Cooperage where you will learn everything you need to know about the famous Scottish golden nectar.
