In the area

Splendid local produce and local specialities are sure to tempt you to the table after a busy day exploring. One local meal you cannot leave the town without feasting on is the famous Forfar “bridie”, the local equivalent of the Cornish pasty, said to take its name from the late Mrs. Bridie.

The town itself is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has a much loved beautiful loch and stunning rose gardens. If you enjoy water sports, make a visit to Lochside Country Park or for the avid fisherman enjoy the north Esk for some superb salmon fishing. For the golf enthusiast, the Forfar Golf club in the heart of picturesque Angus provides the ideal test for all abilities of golfer.
